About PwdForge

PwdForge generates strong, random passwords and memorable passphrases in your browser. Pick the length and the kinds of characters, and copy the result with one click.

Every password is created on your own device with the browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, the same source used for encryption keys. Nothing you generate is ever sent to us, logged or stored.

Alongside the generators you'll find plain-English advice on what actually makes a password strong, so you can make good choices even when you aren't using a generator.

How we build our tools

• Free, with no sign-up. Open the page and use the tool. There are no accounts and no paywalls.
• Private by default. Tools run in your browser wherever possible. When a server is needed, we process what is required to answer your request and do not log or store it.
• Fast and focused. One job per tool, done well, on any device.
• Funded by ads. Ads keep the tools free. They sit in clearly labelled spaces and never between a tool and its result.

Who is behind PwdForge

PwdForge is made by Codebit, a small independent studio in Copenhagen, Denmark, that builds websites and apps. PwdForge is one of a family of small, free utility sites that share the same simple design and the same privacy principles.
